Social Communication Therapy
Social cognitive therapy focuses on increasing perspective taking, executive functioning, social emotional understanding and social self-awareness to help individuals achieve their social goals. I have extensive experience with the Social Thinking® methodology and draw upon the curriculum in therapy. Sessions often occur once per week and include time for caregiver education, where we’ll discuss the session and carryover strategies to use throughout the week.
SelectiVe Mutism TREATMENT
Treatment sessions are often held at home or school, and can also take place at community locations as the child progresses through therapy. Treatment is evidence-based and focuses on easing communication anxiety by supporting social pragmatics, voice initiation and vocal control. In sessions, I draw upon my extensive experience working with children with SM in my own private practice, clinics and intensive treatment programs including the NYU Child Study Center’s Camp Courage.
Speech/Language Evaluations & Treatment
I treat a range of speech and language disorders for toddlers, preschool and school-age children including speech sound disorders, developmental language delay, mixed expressive and receptive language disorders, autism spectrum disorder, executive functioning challenges (i.e., organization, planning) and more. Sessions are typically held in the home, at school or daycare, or via telehealth when appropriate. Sessions often occur 1-2x per week and include time for caregiver education, where we’ll discuss the session and carryover strategies to use throughout the week.
